We provide steady, intensive, concentrated, refresher and Pass Plus courses. In effect, this means that we can do anything from one hour week (we don't recommend less) to twenty hours in a week, configured however you like, so long as we can fit it on our diaries!
By 'steady' courses, we mean one or two lessons a week of either one or two hours duration. If you are a complete novice you will need a two hour lesson to start with because there is a lot of explanation to do, but an hour at a time after that is fine to learn the basics, which can be done locally. Once the basic control, safety and manoevring skills are mastered then the cities are a must to make further progress, which will need two hourly lessons. If you want to go to the cities earlier it is no problem, but bear in mind that it is a long way to go just to practise a turn in the road!
'Intensive' courses can be anything from 10 to 50 or more hours, usually taken two or three hours at a time in one, two or more weeks according to your availability and our diary space, finishing with a Practical Driving Test. Courses are arranged subject to assessment at our normal rates and a valid Theory Test pass certificate. Intensive courses must be paid in full in advance and are charged at our block discount rates plus Test Fees as necessary. We also offer 'split' intensive courses where, for example, a 10 hour 'basics' course can be taken prior to the theory test, and a 20 hour 'test standard' course arranged once you have passed the theory test, with, perhaps, steady lessons in between.
A 'concentrated' course is somewhere in between the stready and intensive courses and can be the best option since it avoids the 'plod' of a steady course and the pressure of the intensive.
Refresher courses are available for any purpose such as a confidence boost if you haven't driven for a while, or perhaps to raise your standard for a company insurance assessment. We can also provide assessments for company insurance schemes, Road Safety organisation tests such as RoSPA or IAM, or for instructor training.
